Ambitious For Lil' Katie Girl

Everyone loves free stuff right? Well go and enter this amazing  giveaway that I've got going on! An independent designer from Origami Owl, Tina  Graham offered to giveaway a freed medium locket (the same kind that I won and gifted to my whole family!).   Make sure you get your hat in the ring for this one!  She also has a few other promotions going for this month. Head over to her Facebook page and check her out! Gotta love the owl!

Good heavens this blog stuff is difficult when there are so many things on your mind that you can't string a single good thought together.

I've been doing a whole lot of thinking lately, if you couldn't tell from all of my very wordy posts as of late.  I'm in for a whole lot of change in the next few months and I just can't stop thinking about it all.  I even wrote an "It's Ok" post for yesterday that I forgot to post...Whoops! That's how much I've been thinking about everything else lately.

All I have really been able to think about is my pending doom. And by doom, I mean basic.

I've got all of these huge expectations of myself. I got a text today from a friend far away.  I guess you could say that he knows me pretty well. He basically told me that I'd better earn whatever I get.  That I need to be the best that I can be and refuse to be handed anything. To work for it.

Now, I'm not about to start getting cocky. I'm not the strongest. I'm not the fastest. Hell, I only weigh 100 lbs on a heavy day, but I've got something that a lot of soldiers don't have. I have motivation. I have  determination...I want more than just a job, a check, tuition for school. Which is much more than a lot of other soldiers can say for themselves.

That being said, I have a lot of big ambitions for basic.

My #1 goal is to finish basic with a 300 APFT. pretty damn ambitions for lil' Katie Girl...
I also am definitely going to go for a leadership position.
And if I don't one, I'll lead in other ways. By example, and helping out the people that need it.

I think that there is so much more to being in the military than a job and a paycheck.

You get out of it what you put into it. And you know what? I would love to get a hell of a lot out of it.

I'm Katie. I'm a 20-something Soldier & student taking each day one step at a time. Living through all the growing pains that come with becoming that person that I always wanted to be & finding that bright side in all of this Camo-Colored Chaos. You can get to know more about me here.
