I Haven't Been Everywhere

I've said time and time again that I have always just wanted to be grown up. Ever since I was a little girl, I just wanted to be big.

Well, that is still true, but I have been looking at it a little bit differently lately. The Army tends to change your perspective just a little bit. I haven't been here long, but I've been here long enough to be changed forever...

Although I'm not wishing that I was still an innocent child, I am really learning to embrace my youth. Basic sort of makes you think about things you wouldn't have otherwise. It's like you finally get it. You finally see that this world is so much bigger than you and me. That there are forces of nature that are working against you, but you have to overcome it. You have to embrace whatever comes your way.

It got me thinking about this random, completely non-special day cruising Follow Me on Pinterest when I saw that someone had pinned all these cute things about travel.

In high school I had the opportunity to go to Italy for a week and Mexico for two weeks. It was such an amazing experience to go away and I just keep thinking about doing it again. As I sit here writing this, I feel this wander-lust set it...I just want to get up and go...everywhere!

I'm really excited to finish up here and start my next chapter. I'm excited to go to college and have new adventures there. I will hopefully get to go some cool places with my unit on our two week training deals during the summer...Now that I am at this perfect age to live like there is no tomorrow, I really want to.

Before I left for basic, I was doing a pretty good job of this. I was going out with my friends, partying, wandering around downtown Salt Lake...I was just trying to remind myself what it's like to be young. And it worked...Now, I just want to run off and do everything. See everything. Be all that I can be.

What's on your list?
