Airborne and Wander-lusting...

It has been a while since I have joined in on the Sunday Social, so .......here it goes!
Sunday Social
Head over to Ashley and Neely's blog to join in.
1. What is something you've always wanted to do but are afraid of?
This might sound cliche, but really want to sky dive. Not only that, I want to go Airborne...But as far as I know, they aren't really looking to throw Chemical Soldiers out of airplanes.

2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
I will hopefully have my bachelors degree in Anthropology/Art History/History or something. Maybe I'll be working some exciting job in a Museum where I get to travel or teaching.
Maybe I'll be married? Or at least in a relationship. With who? Your guess is as good as mine.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2013?
I have a lot of excitement in store for me this fall. I get to see a friend come home from deployment, I have some exciting Drill weekends in store, I'm starting college, and I'm going to be living in a new place, making new friends, and having new adventures.

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
Oh man...my bliggity blog. I hope that people continue to latch onto the things that I have to say. I feel like very...helpful life lessons can be taken from my blog. Maybe I'm just full of hot air, but I think I have learned a lot and I have really come a long ways. I think that other could really learn from me if they tried to.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
NO! Although Salt Lake will always be the place that I call home, I have got to be somewhere else.  I have got some serious wanderlust eating away at me. If I don't get out and go see more places and experience new things, I just might go crazy!

6. What is your morning routine?
As of right now, I really don't have a morning routine. I'm not working, and I haven't started school yet, so basically, I just get up when I want to. If I have something to do, I'll take a shower and get ready. If I don't, I'll take a shower and not get ready. I deal with my school monies sitch., and I babysit my most adorable lil' niece and make her wear sunglasses...

Summer Lovin'

I'd like to say hooah to a year of the Sunday Social! I love this link up and I'm excited to share it today!

Definitely Twitter.

2. Do you subscribe to any daily news reads? If so which ones?
I don't subscribe to anything...I am so busy here, it's hard to keep up with what is going on in the world. I do my best to stay informed, but I feel like I'm going to have to wait to catch up until I get out of here.

3. What is your favorite magazine to have by the pool?
Of course...Cosmopolitan. I can't stop reading that dang magazine. I don't know why I don't have a subscription to it.

4. What is your favorite summertime song?
This question is almost impossible to answer. There are so many. How about a quick summer time playlist.

1. Something Like That - Tim McGraw
2. Take a Back Road- Rodney Atkins
3. Um...all of Taylor Swift.
4. Springsteen- Eric Church
5. Cruise- Florida Georgia Line
6. Firework-Katy Perry
7. Last Friday Night - Katy Perry
8. All of Demi Lovato's new CD

5. What is the best summer concert you've been to?
I've been to a whole bunch of little summer concerts, and I can't really pick one that was my favorite, but I would really like to see Allison Krauss Or Taylor Swift (even though she's not as good as she seems...)

Sunday Social [Blogging Edition]

Hey there blog! It's pretty dang cold in Utah today...I'm sitting here at work, sipping my chai and all bundled up in a blanket! I hope you (yes you!) wherever you are, it's a little bit warmer and you aren't combatting with stupid drivers who don't understand snow driving, snow plows that are obviously confused, and cars that have frost on the inside

Sunday Social

It's been forever since I've done the Sunday Social, so I thought I might give it a shot today! I'm linking up with Neely & Ashley to tell you all about my bloggy!
1. What is the name of your blog? How long have you been blogging?
My blog is called Camo-Colored Chaos.
I have been blogging since March 2012! Almost an entire year now!!

Blogging has been...amazing for me. It has been therapeutic, enjoyable, a way for me to write and get my words out there. I've been met with enormous support from all of my blog friends and I truly believe that my life has been changed by this blog and I hope that someday, my words have changed someone else's life.

3. What is the first blog you ever followed?
I don't remember! I followed a whole bunch of blogs at once when I started getting into blogging. I guess among the first were
4. What is your favorite post you wrote in 2012?
This is a very tough question! I had to go through a ton of posts to find ya'll my favorite one.
I decided on one that isn't the most serious of posts, but I remember having a great time writing it and it really made me reflect on who I am and who I will be in the future. Give it a read:

I Think I Might Be A Scrooge...

Don't forget to check out my give away! It's the holiday season, and we could all use a helping hand!

And speaking of the holidays, it's time for a holiday-themed Sunday Social.

Head over to Ashley's Carnival Ride or A Complete Waste of Make up to link up!

I'm going to warn you now, this sort of make me sound like complete Scrooge...I don't mean to be.  I just like to be honest. So, if I am this cat...I am this cat.

1. What is your favorite Holiday season tradition?
We have lots of traditions. As each of us "kids" gets older and become more independent the traditions change.  We usually take a walk around Temple Square (basically the Mormon Mother ship) to see the lights, but last year, we tried something new. We went to a historical park that show historical Utah and we did pioneer activities. We sang carols, heated our hands over an open fire, and danced to live music. That was really great and possible a new tradition :)

2. Do you have a certain Holiday movie you watch more than others? If so what is it?
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the live action one)
It's A Wonderful Life (duh!)
and all those crappy Lifetime and ABC Family movies. I love them...

3. Show us your favorite decoration or Follow Me on Pinterest decoration you wish you could have.

Want...I might have to make some of these!

4. Favorite holiday song?
I actually really dislike Christmas music. There are, however, a couple that I don't hate so much. Most of them are the religious ones...Silent Night, Joy To The World etc. But for the most part, unless the Carpenters are singing it, I'm not a fan.

5. Favorite holiday dessert?
You're going to think I'm insane, but I don't really like dessert. I'm starting to sound like a complete Scrooge...Sweet things just hurt my teeth so bad that I can't really eat them without being in pain...but I do love peppermint and almost every variety of candy cane (except grape...)

6. What is on your wishlist this year?

opal...love.

I Am Thankful For Sundays

If I didn't work every Sunday, this would so be my favorite day. This link up is definitely the highlight of my Sunday. I love to read everyone's answers to the questions and answering them myself.  Today, I am so very thankful for Sundays.
Do you want to link-up with the Sunday Social? Head over to Neely's blog A Complete Waste of Makeup to link up.

What is currently on your wish list?
I am dying to get a Pandora Charm Bracelet! I have all these charms, but no bracelet...And I want one. Bad.  I'm also wanting a new iPhone case. I've been cruising etsy discovering all these adorable cases and I just...want one!

Share a new iphone, droid, ipad app you have recently discovered that we all need.
I don't have too many new apps, but here are several that I cannot live without. Voxer is probably my favorite. It connect me to on of my best friends who is, literally, living in tomorrow. We can't talk on the phone, but we can walkie-talkie. It's fantastic.

What is a new Fall TV show you have added to your DVR?
Alright, everyone, get your gasps ready. I don't have a DVR or cable or any way to record TV shows that I miss! But, I'm completely in love with Revolution. And of course, if you haven't watched the entire series of Grey's Anatomy, I hope that you're getting on Netflix right this minute to commence the Grey's watching.

Share your Social Media links for us to follow you on(pinterest, twitter, facebook, etc) Tell us which is your favorite and why.
Oh, social media...My little sister is in high school and is in a social media marketing class. Talk about relevant. I think that it's the coolest thing ever.
Saying my favorite is kind of hard. It's probably a tie between Pinterest and Twitter.  Pinterest introduces me to a whole bunch of new and exciting things. I also love Twitter because most of the stuff on it is clear and concise. I think it helps you get to know a different side of a person.

What is a TV series or Movie or Song you could listen to or watch over and over and over and never get tired of…feel free to name one of each.
TV series... Okay, I'm kind of obsessed with a whole bunch of different series. Currently, I'm re-watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer from start to finish, so I guess you could say that I'd watch that over and over again :D And I may or may not have just restarted Grey's Anatomy...It's fueling my new Washington Dream. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't currently listing to "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons on repeat.

Don't forget to check out my November sponsor!

The Ghost of Halloweens Past

Before I launch into the Sunday Social this morning, I would first like to Congratulate Kim for winning my DefineBliss 50 Followers (now 62!) Giveaway. I will be contacting you by email shortly! I hope I don't lose any new friends now that it's over! Also, if you read my last post you read a few things that I want. The last one was a computer...Well, Last night, I randomly decided to make a gigantic purchase and buy a laptop! Crazy right?! I'm blogging from it right now and I am so excited about it!
Sunday Social

But now, onward to the Sunday Social.  You can head over to Neely's blog, A Complete Waste of Makeup and link up too!

1. Favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
I went as a gypsy in the first grade. I got this awesome silky dress thing that I wore as jammies for several years after that. I thought I was so awesome. Sadly, I don't have a clue where I would find any pictures of this...But I seriously wore that costume forever...Definitely my favorite.

2. If I could go back a dress up as something I didn't before?
I would dress up as a Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I love Buffy. She's basically my hero, but I was a little young to watch it, so I wouldn't have wanted to dress as her, but how cool would that have been?!

3. Favorite costume as an adult?
I'm a total Halloween Scrooge and I always have been.  It was always cold when it came time to trick-or-treat, candy has always hurt my teeth, I don't like to be scared and I'm not much of a partier...Basically, I don't like Halloween. But this year, I decided to go out and have some fun on Friday night I even dressed up if you can believe that!
Seems how this is the first year that I've dressed up as an "adult" this is my favorite costume!
4. Favorite Halloween candy?
Smarties. Hands down, Smarties are my favorite Halloween candy. I will trade every candy but my Almond Joys and Hershey bars for Smarties...I'm a weirdo, because they're like the dumbest candy ever, but they're my fave.

5. Best Halloween Memory?
I don't really have a specific favorite Halloween memory, but my favorite Halloween tradition we have is we go to my grandpa's house and eat chili while all the kids trick-or-treat all over the neighborhood. It's always so fun to hang out, eat too much chili and watch random crap on TV and laugh about old memories.

6. Favorite scary movie?
I hate scary movies. So instead, I'm going to tell you my favorite Halloween movies. I have two.
Hocus Pocus...Oh man I love Hocus Pocus
Double Double Toil and Trouble
Growing up, we watched this Mary-Kate and Ashley movie all the time around Halloween. We were nuts for it.

And that concludes the Sunday Social for today! I'm going to play with my new computer and eat some pizza rolls from my PK (personal kitchen...) hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

ACE59924-FADD-4BB5-B37F-AA8BFACBC379-31962-00001E55A8644FE7.jpg

1. Favorite childhood book
I was not much of a read when I was a kid.  I read my fair share of Junie B. Jones and Horrible Harry, but I didn't really start to love books until Shadow Horse. After I read that book, I realized that as long as your reading something that you are enjoying, reading is freakin awesome.

2 . Favorite Book lately
It has been a long time since I have sat down and read a book...It's amazing how easy it is for life to get in the way of something as simple as reading! I think the last book that I read and was completely in love with though, was Flowers For Algernon. I cried and cried but it was so good.  I so feel for the poor guy...All he wanted was to fit in and have friends...

Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-6)3. Book you wish you could live in.
I would definitely live in Harry Potter. I am a total Harry Potter nut and I have been since I first started to love reading. It would be so amazing to be a part of that awesome magical world that JK Rowling created...

4. If you could be any character from a book who would it be and why?
I would definitely be Huckleberry Finn.  I have always loved Mark Twain and I am obsessed with Huck Finn. Sure Tom Sawyer is cool, but Huck is so much more
adventureous. I also think that he has completely pure intentions in everything he does. I think that we're similar in many ways, but he has the courage to do
things that I wouldn't.
Holes

5. Favorite Book turned Movie?
Holes. Definitely loved Holes. There were several inconsistencies but I loved the way that they presented it. It was probably one of the books turned movie that I didn't have complaints about.

6. Favorite Magazines
I really only read Cosmopolitan Magazine. I think it's hilarious to read all the stories and advice. It's so funny to me how they talk about everything...It's hilarious to me!

Social Without Structure

Today's Sunday Social is one unlike all others. There are no questions for us to answer! At first, I was disappointed. I love answering those questions. But then, I decided that this would be a good oppertunity to talk about the things I loove about Fall.
Sunday Social
If you want to share you favorite things about fall head on over to A Complete Waste of Makeup and Link up!

Admittedly, Fall is not my favorite season. I'm not a fan of the cold, I dislike Halloween, and I hate how it gets dark so early. But there are definitely things that I do like about it, even though I wish it was Spring turning to Summer not Fall turning to Winter...

One thing I love is Fall decor. My cousin Jessica runs a shop on Etsy called DefineBliss where she sells all this awesome stuff that she makes by hand. My favorite things are always the fall decorations.

In fact, I love all these things so much, when I hit 50 followers, I'm going to be doing a giveaway! My very first one!  My favorite thing about all this stuff, is she makes everything herself. She gets help from her sister and other family members when she's trying to build her inventory for a show, but for the most part, everything is made by Jessica from her imagination. She also can do almost anything custom orders. It's amazing. She is so talented :)

And now that I've gotten very off-track...

There's a couple more things that I love about fall.

I love our annual family Pumpkin Patch excursion as well as the carving we do after that. I really don't like to carve pumpkins, but it's always fun to get together and hang out with all our cousins.
This year, we decided to pick our pumpkins while we could have the pick of the patch then we'll carve them in a few weeks. That way they will still be good on Halloween.
We started the tradition of going to Mabey's Pumpkin Patch a few years ago. It was a lot more fun than just going to the grocery store and grabing one out of the cardboard bins.

We went out yesterday and this was the result!

That's Jessica from DefineBliss in the middle!

My mom and sister stolling through the patch

That speck in the distance is my grandpa in his motor-scooter. He decided to do some off-roading without us and check out the pumpkins.

That pumpkin had to have been 30 lbs and my sister wanted it. So I carried it halfway across the patch for my mom to say that she couldn't have it...

We ended up wtih three little wagons filled with pumpkins for us to carve.

Also, I really love Thanksgiving. My post giving thanks is already in the works. It's so important to me to let people know how much they mean to me and how many amazing things I have in my life.

Plus, I love mashed potatoes and side salads...Who doesn't?

Wow, that ended up being really long!
Stay tuned for a post about the actual carving of those pumpkins.

And also, like I said before, when I hit 50 followers, I'm doing a DefineBliss Giveaway! The sooner I hit it, the sooner some gets a fantistic piece from Jessica's shop!

Until next time!  Happy Autumn!

Because It's Sunday!

Who doesn't like to go back in time and remember what you were like as a lil' one?! Well, head over to A Complete Waste of Make Up and Link up to  share what you were like.
Sunday Social
1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss the sense of adventure. When I was little, I was basically fearless.  At the age of 4 and 5 I would wander off at the barn my dad worked at and be gone for hours. What was I doing? Splashing in a creek, swinging on a tire swing, jumped around on hay bales. If it looked kinda fun, I did it. Now, I think through all the consequences, do a pros & cons list, then thing. WWJD? (okay, that last part was a joke...)

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
All my life, my parent, especially my daddy have called me Katie Girl. I love it and I hope that they call me that all my life.

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?
When I was in 1st-4th grade, I was really into the playground, playing pretend (i.e. house, stranded on dessert island, teacher etc.) but as I got a little older I like to play games like four square and basketball.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a teacher or an "Army Guy" For as long as I can remember, those were the two things that I wanted. No one knew that I wanted to be an "Army Guy" until my senior year in high school when I actually joined and followed my life long dream. And I might still be a teacher...

5. What was your favorite toy?
I really didn't play with a lot of toys. I had a cap gun that I really liked. And I always enjoyed playing Hotwheels, but what it came down to, was that when my parents got me some awesome toy, I usually had fun with it for like a week before I went back to spalshing in the creek or doing something that involved more imagination that toys.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?
I was obsessed with tape, glue, and sciscors. I loved to cut stuff up, tape together toilet paper tubes and glue together anything that looked like it should go together. My mom washed some of my sheets a few different times to discover that I had cut a 100 little cuts into them. Lucky her, right? I also used big words apparently? I don't really know what my family means by that, but I was correcting them on their grammar by the age of like...7. Sad, I know
I'm the one in the chair. I still sit with my feet up like that...My mom gets so mad because I do it at the dinner table.

I was 3 years old in this picture (right) I remember getting dressed for this day and feeling like a lil' clown. I thought I was so cute.
I was a regular Picasso, no? Both of my sisters have pictures just like this one, and their teachers helped them. So there's are awesome and I have a lumpy face and crazy ears...(confession? I still draw about this well...)
1st grade...I was sooo proud of those missing teeth and was so excited to get my school picture taken without them. Check out my ears! They still stick out like that...
